I went to Jr. High School with both of these girls, Shirley was in my 8th grade science class and we quickly became good friends. I have not talked to her since the day before she ran away with Cindy. But I think of her often and hope that she has found some piece in her heart. I have read this book so many times that the cover is tattered and torn. And I cry every time I read it knowing what they both went thru.
