Overview

What begins as a quest for submission becomes an unrelenting need for love.

May Aiona's crush on sexy Evan Chambers is a bad habit that should be easy to break. It's not like he's ever noticed her. Looking for a safe place to release the reins of control and explore her curiosity about BDSM, May takes a friend up on an invitation to visit an exclusive bondage club-all she has to agree to is a public submission.

Evan can't help but notice the exotically beautiful May. But despite his success, the dirty secrets of his past whisper that he'll never be good enough for her. When Evan sees her standing in his club ready to submit to his best friend, he gives in to the thing he wants most-May as his sub. After their session, he knows one night will never be enough. But loving May isn't easy for a man always ready to take charge. She might like to submit in the bedroom, but she doesn't like anyone telling her what to do outside of it.

When May insists she's not in any danger from the person seemingly obsessed with her, she ends up in the sights of a deranged stalker-with Evan possibly too far away to help.

Warning: This book contains sexy Hawaiian settings, crazy relatives, and a submission scene that leaves the heroine breathless and the hero frustrated. There are toys, bondage, and love scenes so hot, you'll need ice water and a towel. Remember, it's a Harmless story, so you know there's nothing harmless about it.

    An Erotic BDSM Romance

A Little Harmless Obsession is the story of a woman's sensual journey into the world of BDSM. May Aiona is the manager of a popular restaurant in Hawaii, and while she is happy with her career, she feels something is lacking in her personal relationships. The men she dates leave her unsatisfied. They want her to take the lead in and out of the bedroom, and she wants the complete opposite - at least where sex is concerned. May is a great character. She's smart, independent, strong, and not the least bit afraid to acknowledge her submissive side. When a friend arranges for her to join a bondage club she is thrilled, until she finds out the catch - she must submit to a club owner in a public session. May hesitantly agrees to the terms, and she soon finds out that her Dom will be Evan Chambers, the club's silent partner and a man she has been secretly lusting after for years. Evan Chambers is hiding years of childhood anguish and abuse behind his tough, dominate exterior. He's the perfect tortured hero. Evan has wanted May since he first laid eyes on her, but his past has left him damaged to the point where he feels unworthy of her. Evan keeps his true feelings for her locked away until he sees her at his bondage club about to submit to his partner. Despite his insecurities where May is concerned, he can not just stand by and watch while his friend takes what he knows should be his. What was meant to be a one-time only event becomes the catalyst for their D/s relationship. The situation becomes even more complicated when an anonymous stalker threatens May's life. A Little Harmless Obsession was a sizzling story with some very sexy scenes. Evan is an experienced Dom, but May is just beginning her journey into the world of BDSM. He could have been tougher on her, though I'm sure he was holding back a bit because it was a new experience for her. I enjoyed the stalker storyline mainly because it really brought out Evan's protective alpha nature. It showed May that he may not be able to limit his dominate nature to just the bedroom. I believe that May could handle just about anything if she's brave enough to let an audience watch her first scene at a bondage club. Wow!! Certainly Evan is exactly what she needs to fill the void in her life, and May is the woman Evan needs to free him from his painful past. However, breaking down the protective barrier around their hearts will be the challenge. This is the third book in Melissa Schroeder's Harmless series, though it can be read stand-alone. Fans of lighter BDSM and erotic romances are sure to enjoy it.

    Scorching Hot

May Aiona has always been interested in Evan Chambers but knows that he is way out of her league. Little does she know that from the first time Evan laid his eyes on May, he has wanted her but his own secrets and past keep Evan from loving her. Yet when May deals with a stalker Evan finds that he must intervene.

May and Evan are a great couple. She is a strong and smart woman who has her life together but is still searching for what she needs in the bedroom. Evan is a wonderful man and Dom. He stands by his friends and those that he loves. Watching the two try to figure out what their relationship is and where it's going was a good read. Evan may be tough but on the inside he is really a softy who cares with all his heart. He loves May so much that he cannot help himself when she is threatened and with May's strong personality outside of the bedroom it leads to many a misunderstanding.

I just adored Evan. He is so far gone over May that he can not believe that she would want him or his lifestyle. He may be a strong man but he is very vulnerable because of his past. It was a nice thing to see Evan start to let people in and begin to heal.

Not only were Evan and May great characters but we get to see May's family and other characters from previous books. Plus I just loved Micah - he was a great guy. I certainly hope he finds his happiness.

Well written and fast paced this is a book that should be on everyone's to be read pile. I know that I am eagerly awaiting the next in this series.

Not something I would read again.

    Reviewer: Jen
    Publisher: Samhain
    Page Count: 240
    Source: Purchased for pleasure

So, for those wanting to know how this book connected to the series, May works for Chris (hero of book 2) as the manager of his restaurant. Evan is also one of Chris' best friends and participated in a menage with Chris and Cynthia in A Harmless Little Pleasure.

Now that I have that out of the way, this story delves even further into the world of BDSM, mostly focusing on the Dom/sub relationship, because you have a true dom and sub. Evan is the silent, co-owner of a popular BDSM club and May is wanting to explore the world of D/s because something has always been lacking in the bedroom. She's also been harboring a major crush on Evan but isn't ready to submit to him.

So, in addition to May's discover of pleasure and submission in the bedroom, she's also being stalked. I think this subplot should've been explored a little more. To me, if feels like it was just thrown in there as a way to make Evan fess up about his feelings for May.

Realistic, colorful characters, a very erotic story and good twist in the end!

I am quite thrilled to have read this unusual (at least it is for me) romantic story set in beautiful Hawaii. Evan and Maylea, and every one of their supporting characters are so colorful, attractive, sexy, and also believable. Melissa Schroeder is an author I never heard of. After reading this book, I cannot wait to read her other titles. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance novels and wants something really exotic without going supernatural. This is one sexy, very human and unforgettable reading experience that satisfies me.

    good read

this ebook was really good. this was my first ebook from this author and it will not be my last.the storyline was good and i didnt want to stop reading until the last page. the price was right for it. this is a ebook not a book, therefore i refuse to pay book price for any ebooks no matter how bad i want the book. 9.99 and up is rediculous to pay for something that can be taken away from you even though you have already paid for it. i know this to be true because it happened to me. at least a book at that price is something i can pick and know that i will have it as long as i want it.

    Good book

Its wonderful when a strong woman is able to find a man she trusts enough to submit to and have protect her life. This story is sensual but also has a good "who did it" plot.

    Don't bother.

Though it was a full book and well written, this story was very boring. The characters seemed a little one dimensional and were so hung up on talking about BDSM constantly but never having much to show for it. The plot was very bland and the climax was a mere bump in the road. I definitely feel it wasn't worth the time I put into reading it.

    Must Read !!

Another awesome book by Ms Schroeder !! The Harmless Series by Ms Schroeder is a must read if you love hot sexy books!! The stories are hot and the characters are interesting, well rounded and multidimensional. Evan and May are two of my favorite characters. All of the books stand on their own but like all series they are much better if you read them in order.

    I Also Recommend:

    A Harmless Homerun

Melissa Schroeder has pulled out yet another luscious story for the Harmless series. Evan is by far my favorite hero to date in the Harmless series and I can't wait to read more and more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's very good and gives you something to ponder with a bit of suspense. There's a potential stalker, one woman's misconception of unrequited lust, a trip to a BDSM club, some obsessive and possessive behavior by a hot dominant man and two people learning about themselves and falling in love.

I sped through this book in 4 hours it was that good. I connected with the characters and the setting. I wanted to hang out in the restaurant and drink Lava Flows while soaking up the sun. I felt Evan's tormented feelings about himself and May's frustration with having to always make the decisions. The sex was heart stopping and breath stealing. Definitely not something to take lightly.

I was happy with the resolution of the suspense/possible stalker issue. I had a few ideas who I thought it was and it was nice to see the plot point all the way through.

I was also thrilled with the HEA of Evan and May. Though I'm surprised Evan's friends didn't smack him upside the head a few times over the years. I know I'd have been tempted. lol Tormented by his past or not he needed to open his eyes.
