Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
K-Gr 2-"The Little Land" is not one of the memorable poems in Stevenson's A Child's Garden of Verses-lines like "To the fairy land afar/Where the Little People are;/Where the clover-tops are trees./And the rain-pools are the seas,/And the leaves like little ships/Sail about on tiny trips" seem a mere step above greeting-card verse. What is above the ordinary is the quality of the detailed color illustrations. Using a modeling compound, Fernandes has created a three-dimensional dream world, but she needs a richer text for her talent.-Kathleen Whalin, York Public Library, ME Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
