Overview

Macy's chance for love is slipping from her fingers. College football coach Luke Carter has a penchant for hot-bodied babes, not curvy hairdressers like Macy. And some big-time schools may be luring him away. Then a country singing star's hair emergency turns into a big break for Macy.

Making it in Nashville boosts Macy's confidence, but when Luke interviews for a job at a local university, she'll have to put up or shut up-or lose him forever?

    Romantic comedy

When Macy McCoy watches her best friend Jamie Lee get married, she feels as though life is passing her by. She's been in love with Jamie Lee's brother Luke for years, but he's a well-known former football player, definitely playing in a different league than Macy. Or so she thinks. When a hair emergency brings a famous country singer into the small salon where Macy and Jamie Lee are stylists, Macy's boring life does a complete turnaround and suddenly she's rubbing elbows with Nashville singers and songwriters. She even lands herself a spot on a reality cooking show. The only thing missing in Macy's life is the one thing that she wants the most - Luke.***** Luke Carter has admired his sister's best friend for quite a while, especially after spending a significant amount of time with her while helping with his sister's wedding preparations. Having turned to coaching football after a career-ending injury, Luke decides to focus on coaching job prospects while giving Macy room to explore her newfound life changes. It's not easy to keep his hands off Macy and while she might think he prefers tall, thin model-types, he finds Macy's less-than-statuesque curves the hottest thing around.***** LuAnn has another successful romantic comedy on her hands with A LITTLE LESS TALK AND A LOT MORE ACTION, that's for certain! I've found that sometimes in first person writing, the male POV gets lost. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to make first person writing work by successfully covering all of the bases, but LuAnn does it flawlessly. This book has fun at every turn - characters that are devoted to one another while not taking themselves too seriously, lighthearted fun, and enough country music references and information about Nashville hotspots to fill a travel brochure. While it does offer an abundance of laughs and charm, it doesn't skimp on the romance or passion, and secondary romances are a great bonus for readers. Don't miss this fun read

a fun friends to lovers story

I had been anxiously awaiting Macy and Carter¿s story and was excited when it was finally available. Sometimes those highly anticipated books just don¿t live up to your expectations, but this was surpassed my expectations. This was a wonderful friends to lovers story. It was a beautiful book about finding and appreciating the strength and courage inside of you. Both Luke and Macy are at a point in their lives where a little change makes a big difference. Macy solves a hair emergency for a country music elebrity while she is passing through town and as a result, and ends up in an unexpected place with an unexpected change in career. Luke is in the process of finding a new job which leads to a new location for him as well. I do not remember ever laughing as hard while reading as I did while Macy was making her special dinner for Luke, especially cooking the potato. I had to put the book down for a moment, I was laughing so hard - big huge laughs, not little giggles. Ms. McLane writes the best first person viewpoint stories and this one is no exception. Not only did I love this story, it is on my list of favorites for the year.

    A reviewer

LuAnn McLane delivers an all out good time in A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action. It¿s funny and sexy and everything you want in a romance book. _____ Macy McCoy¿s life seems to be at a stand still, with her best friend Jamie Lee getting hitched, she knows things are going to change. She has yet to make her feelings know to her long time crush Luke Carter, Jamie¿s brother. When a once in a lifetime opportunity comes along to work in Nashville, Macy jumps at the chance. Doing hair for a big time country star feels so right but when Luke finally notices her as a woman she must decide its now or never to make her move. ____ Working for singer Tammy Turner and company has really boaster Macy¿s confidence. When Luke comes to visit Macy throws caution to the wind and goes after Luke with everything she has at her disposal. ______ Luke Carter, local football hero has always had a soft spot for his sister¿s best friend. But one kiss from Macy rocks his world. Luke¿s life is changing too will he realize in time how important Macy is to him? ______ A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action is sensational, the humor is down home and off the wall funny. Macy and Luck are like lost friends you have come to visit and sit a spell. Their chemistry sparkles on every page and you can¿t wait to see what is in store for them. LuAnn McLane¿s characters are ones to treasure time and time again.

    more from this reviewer

a deep yet humorous character study

Macy has been attracted to her friend ¿bodacious¿ Luke Carter for what seems like forever however she knows he does not reciprocate her feelings as he never makes the slightest pass at her. Until now that is. Whatever reason it may be suddenly Luke finds he wants his buddy Macy in a way he has never felt before.---------------- Still both have decisions to make before testing the relationship waters outside of friendship. He has a terrific coaching offer in Florida she has a fabulous opportunity as a hairdresser in Nashville to music superstars. Each must decide between what could be a lifetime of love or a vocational opportunity of a lifetime.------------ Macy and Luke are fabulous lead protagonists who each must make critical choices at a time they discover one another neither believes a long distance relationship can work when being neighbors it never happened until recently. Both also encourage the other to pursue the opportunity as neither wants the other to one day resent a lost chance. They make this tale work as a deep yet humorous character study with a strong support cast encouraging the lead pair to do A LITTLE LESS TALK AND A LOT MORE ACTION.------------- Harriet Klausner
