Barnes & Noble - Kevin Giordano
Welcome to the Head-Banger's Ball, Adam Sandler-style. In addition to starring in his latest comedy, Little Nicky, Sandler also executive produced the soundtrack, which thunders like an arena packed with fist-pumping, skateboard-toting metalheads. P.O.D.'s "School of Hard Knocks" opens the disc with a tight, tension-filled riff that drops into a rap-punctuated verse, asking "Who's ready to rock?" Funk-metal outfit Incubus follow up with Nirvana-esque "Pardon Me," which boasts too-quick-to-catch raps, a wailing chorus à la Eddie Vedder, and some DJ scratching. Thrash metallers Disturbed contribute the disc's highlight, the raw "Stupify," which begins with tribal rhythms and slowly escalates into a fist-throwing anthem. Ganga-loving rappers Cypress Hill throw down the guitar-heavy "Rock Superstar," which tells the tale of a boy's dream of being a star. Filter's pop-rock hit "Take a Picture" sounds like an homage to U2, while British trio Muse offer the anthem-like "Cave." Whether or not Little Nicky has you rolling in the aisles, its soundtrack is sure to have you banging your head against the nearest wall.
All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Appropriately enough for a movie about Satan's misfit son, the original soundtrack to the Adam Sandler vehicle Little Nicky features churning alt-metal and rap from the likes of Linkin Park, Disturbed, and Cypress Hill. P.O.D.'s "School of Hard Knocks," Powerman 5000's "When Worlds Collide," Incubus's "Pardon Me," and Filter's "Take My Picture" are some of the soundtrack's hellacious highlights, along with two tracks from the Deftones, "Change" and an acoustic version of "Be Quiet and Drive." Like the film itself, the Little Nicky soundtrack offers few surprises, but won't disappoint fans of the bands it includes.

    A good compilation.

This is definitly a good album. I had heard most of the songs before I purchased the album, and knew I liked those. All but 2 or three songs are good, which is pretty rare in an album these days. If you like music that rocks without being obnoxious, get this CD and you won't be disappointed. I was especially impressed with Linkin Park's track ''Points of Authority.'' Enjoy.
