Overview

Meet Little Raccoon.

"Little Raccoon was little, but he was brave."

Little Raccoon is a precocious and curious young creature. Whether facing down the scary thing in the pool, exploring the world beyond his familiar woods with a pair of young skunks, or baby-sitting two pesky chipmunks, Little Raccoon manages to find himself in all sorts of predicaments. But Little Raccoon is also brave, and his bravery-not to mention his irrepressible happy spirit-saves the day every time.

These three adventures of Little Raccoon, originally published as three separate books, are gathered in one collection and reillustrated in lively and humorous black-and-white drawings.

Little Raccoon has adventures fishing by himself at night, venturing into the outside world beyond his woods, and babysitting two tricky chipmunks.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Originally published as three separate stories in the mid-1960s, these three delightful vignettes about a loveable raccoon have been combined in one volume. Whether he is confronting the thing in the pool, which turns out to be his own reflection, venturing out into the world with its fascinating garbage cans, revolving clothesline, and garden faucet, or baby-sitting two inquisitive chipmunks, Little Raccoon's playful antics and adventures will delight children. As fresh and appealing today as they were over thirty years ago, a new generation of children will find a likeable character in Little Raccoon and enjoy meeting his woodland friends. Cushman's black-and-white sketches are the perfect accompaniment for these humorous tales. 2002, Henry Holt,
