Children's Literature
Alfred, the taxi is going to need repairs and will be out of commission for a day. Little Red Car assures his friend that he can fill in. He takes seniors shopping, kids to school and even picks up farmer Briggs and his menagerie. After a hard days work, Little Red Car treats himself to a car wash. The pull-tabs and flaps are perfect—one has Alfred lifted up so the mechanic can take a look and the rollers busily wash the muck off Little Red Car. Kids will get the message of helping a friend in need and also enjoy the outing. 2001, Abbeville, $6.95. Ages 2 to 4. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
