    Excellent and Captivating Set

My family had a copy of this book when I was little, and it was one of my absolute favorites. Almost 40 years later it is one of my 4 year old daughters favorites. The illustrations are wonderful - the personification gives the characters of the story great appeal. I remember being fascinated by them when I was young, and my daughter now never fails to remark about the fog grasping at the boats, and how the little red lighthouse is sad. The best part is the story is 'true' - there really is a little red lighthouse and a great grey bridge. The gift set with the night light is wonderful. My daughter insists we turn it on every night so she can see the little red lighthouse when it gets dark (if she's up!).
