Molly Flower lives by the sea with her father. One night he returns from a fishing trip with a magical creature; a tiny white pony with golden hooves. Although her father insists the pony be returned to the sea, Molly begs to keep him for one day to show to her friend Peter. The townspeople are taken with the beautiful animal and believe the sea pony brings good luck.
