Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Nicole Davis
Can you climb over a bench, or squeeze under a broom that is just above the floor? This vibrant board book contains pictures and simple words describing uncomplicated games toddlers can play. The pictures show young children doing these activities so toddlers can imitate them and complete the games by themselves. These pictures are uncomplicated, without any distractions in the background so the focus is on the activity and not how or where it is happening. Since toddlers enjoy being around other little people, the book should capture their attention. The book is sturdy and large for small hands and fingers to easily turn the pages. The book lays flat when the pages are opened so it can be put onto the floor and stay open while the game is reproduced and played. Eight activities in this book include touching body parts, playing with blocks, playing a chasing game, climbing over and under things, playing with a ball, marbles, tiddlywinks, and dress up. This book will give parents ideas of things they can do with toddlers, and show toddlers things they can do by themselves. Part of the "Little Steps" series. Reviewer: Nicole Davis
