Little T thinks he might be better at magic spells than the hopeless Lizard. But there are times when only a real wizard will do.
Children's Literature - Leslie WolfsonLittle Prince T Rex is full of surprises. In this title, a part of the "Read-It Chapter Books" series, Little T is the son of royals King High T the Mighty and Queen Tina Regina. He means well but cannot help getting into trouble. The royal magician, Lizard the Wizard, is to perform his yearly Magic Moment. Unfortunately, the wizard has been a failure in recent years and is afraid this year's moment will be another flop. Little T offers to save the day by borrowing a magic book and performing some magic moments of his own. Needless to say, his tricks, while harmless, are all disasters. Worst of all, he shrinks the kingdom's dinosaurs to the size of mice. While chaos ensues, Little T's friends try to help him reverse the spell. Eventually all is well and Little T offers to try more tricks the next year. This beginning reader book is more clever than many on the market, with an engaging story and a mischievous main character. The drawings are black-and-white and come not only with text, but dialogue bubbles as well. Youngsters will like this "comic book" feel, as well as the story.
