I've just seen the new, restored edition of Little Toot, and it is beautiful! The restored colors of the original classic are wonderful to see, and the story of a little tugboat who manages to accomplish great things resonates, as always. The writing is not 'dumbed down' for children, and is a pleasure for adults to read aloud. My five-year-old loves this story. What a joy to see the book as it was meant to be.
Little Toot has been one of my family's favorites throughout the generations. When I was a little boy, my mother read it to me and now I read it to my sons. A classic story of gaining courage through heroic actions is a timeless theme. It encourages children to believe in themselves and to never give up. A clear five-star book.
This book has been in my family for more than 30 years, since my children were little. Now the same person who gave it to them then has given the brand new edition to my 3 year old grandchildren and they love it just as much. When I visit them 'Little Toot' is always the only book we read at bedtime. It's delightful as it is tender, precious and everlasting. Thank you for brightening the memories!
Little Toot is a delight and treasure. The story is one for the heart, but the book would be worth owning for the illustrations alone. I bought 4 copies so I could give them to friends with children and grandchildren. One friend has already reported back that's it's the one her grandchildren request every time they visit. Even my husband asked me to read it to him over and over! Highly recommended.
