An excellent story, telling of first love, first sexual encounters...and the difficulty of growing up gay in the Deep South. You'll fall in love with the characters and find that you don't want to put down the book once you've started it. An interesting note: The author shifts the POV from first person to third person in the very last chapter, a change that is immediately noticeable and enhances her telling of that part of the story. I'll definitely be getting and reading the rest of the books in this series.
