Live at Deanna's

by Deanna Kirk

Originally released in 1994, Live At Deanna's delivered a smoldering live performance from Kirk at her own New York jazz club. Her interpretations of blues, jazz, and soulful pop standards like "C.C. Rider," "Fever," "My Heart Belongs to Daddy," and "St. Louis Blues" are sassy and clever and shine through despite the album's slightly murky sound quality.

Overview

Originally released in 1994, Live At Deanna's delivered a smoldering live performance from Kirk at her own New York jazz club. Her interpretations of blues, jazz, and soulful pop standards like "C.C. Rider," "Fever," "My Heart Belongs to Daddy," and "St. Louis Blues" are sassy and clever and shine through despite the album's slightly murky sound quality. Live At Deanna's brought Kirk her first record deal; ironically enough, it was livelier than either of her two subsequent studio albums. However, this album will likely please fans of her earlier material as well as anyone looking for hip, contemporary vocal jazz.
