Gilmore's second effort on the actor, Live Fast, Die Young, is a superb effort which goes far beyond his earlier work. This book is gut-wrenching, dark, and honest. The author knew James Dean and has real life stories to tell. The author's view of Dean is beyond good. It is insightful, at times disturbing and sad, but always told with the grit of real life.
