Recorded on her 2008 Backwoods Barbie tour, the 2009 CD/DVD set Live from London is Dolly Parton's first live release since 2004's Live and Well. That generous 23-track collection arrived on the heels of her turn-of-the-millennium trio of bluegrass albums and appropriately drew deeply on that trilogy, whereas this casts the net a little wider, retaining some of that mountain music but adding more classic hits along with several selections from Backwoods Barbie, of course. That 2008 album was her poppiest in a spell, so it follows that Live from London is also a big glitzy production, with Parton coming out to the strains of "Hello Dolly" and supported by legions...

It's not intimate; it's a crowd-pleasing extravaganza delivered by an old pro who knows how to give the audience, whether they're in the arena or listening at home, exactly what they want.

It's Dolly! Of course it is great!

As far as I'm concerned, anything Dolly touches is gold! And, this CD/DVD combo doesn't disappoint! With the DVD you get a front row seat and behind the scenes tour of one of a fantastic performance of one of--if not THE--greatest singer/songwriter/performer ever! On both the DVD and CD you will be treated to some of Dolly's best-known hits like Jolene and 9 to 5 (which are amazing). You will also be treated to some of her newer masterpieces including the hauntingly beautiful "Only Dreamin'" and the infectiously fun "Backwoods Barbie". Dolly fans will love this the CD/DVD combo--and will be sure to watch the DVD over and over again. This would make a great gift to all Dolly fans and for anyone who loves amazing music and performance! If you aren't a Dolly fan before you pop-in the CD or DVD you are sure to be afterwards!

    The Best!!!!!!!

This is the best Two Disk Set Dolly Parton has ever released. The Live In London Concert really shows how unique dolly is, how she interacts with her auidence, and shows how much effort she puts into her concerts. When i first watched this i was in awe with all the amazing features on here. When you watch it it's like your there at the concert. Dolly went above and beyond and always does for all her concerts. If you never had the oppurtunity to actually go to a Dolly concert this is your chance. This concert will have you jumping off your couch, singing along, clapping along with Dolly. And all the additional features are breath taking! This is beyond amazing! I love it!!!
