All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Culled from a two-night stand at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London in July of 2009, the CD/DVD set Live from the Royal Albert Hall won't win over any skeptics -- the kind who may sneer at the Killers covering Joy Division, as they do rather early on here -- but the group doesn't care. They're unflappable, confident in their command, not messiahs looking to convert (a trait they managed to not take from U2) but to satiate their flock. And that does give the lengthy Live from the Royal Albert Hall -- a whopping 22 tracks on the DVD, shortened to 17 on the CD -- considerable momentum, one that flattens the excesses of Sam's Town and pumps up Day & Age, ...

The Killers build up a force that causes Brandon Flowers to occasionally be short of breath, but by the time he's panting on "All These Things That I've Done," he's earned it: he and his band command a large audience through plainly evident hard work.

    A Visually Striking Live Extravaganza!

In what would turn out to be one of the greatest and most influential live rock recordings ever made, The Killers gave their highly anticipated live performance at London's Royal Albert Hall, which not only got the international acclaim it fully deserves, but also great fanfare from some of the fans from across the globe who attended. What is really amazing about this wonderful concert DVD is that it not only captures the band at their best, but it features a visually striking live atmosphere, a series of brief interviews with few of the fans waiting outside Royal Albert Hall, electrifying sets, timeless songwriting, finesse, band comeraderie, magnificent performances as well as dazzling live footage of the band performing onstage. Plus, the DVD also includes several live performances the band gave at several festival acts in Great Britain and Ireland that same time prior to the DVD's widespread release in 2009 (it would even be hailed in an international critics' poll as the "Best Live Recording Of 2009". With over 2% hours of spectacular footage and eye-filling theatrical aura, Live At The Royal Albert Hall includes a special introduction from few of the fans interviewed oustide Royal Albert Hall, a behind the scenes look at inside the event, interviews with the crew and live reindition of their greatest hits from the 2000's. Since The Killers first arrived in the international spotlight in 2004, following the band's formation in Las Vegas two years earlier, the band has hit a full house with their rise to international fame and a highly successful recording career that resulted with four hit CD's, like Hot Fuss (2004), Sam's Town (2006), Sawdust (2007) and Day And Night (2008), while making their steady schedule of live tours. So, if you want to know what the future holds for The Killers, we will be hearing a lot more from them for many decades to come, thanks to their world class artistry and the great music they have given us during the past decade. So make sure you pick up a copy of The Killers' Live At The Royal Albert Hall, because it will give you another live rock and roll experience that you will cherrish for the rest of your life, and it will leave such a lasting impact on your music appriciation, which makes this wonderful concert DVD a shining achievement that will live on for ages. This Is Live Rock And Roll At It's Finest!
