The touring Bill Evans Trio of 1974 included longtime bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Marty Morell. This gig, recorded for the most part impeccably and issued on Spain's Gambit imprint, finds pianist and accompanists in excellent form. The program is split equally between uptempo numbers and ballads. The former include "Up with the Lark" and "34 Skidoo," a harmonically reinvented "If You Could See Me Now" that offers the pianist in prime bop mode, and "Sugar Plum."
