All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
This CD/DVD set -- the concert runs two songs longer on the DVD -- is pretty simple, capturing a show Mraz gave at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago in August 2009. Colbie Caillat shows up to duet on "Lucky," but that's really the only surprise here: Mraz is in total crowd-pleaser mode, running through hits and favorites, bending arrangements and improvising a little bit, but not enough to alter the feel or familiarity of the songs, creating a show that's a good time for fans.

    Mrazian Fever!

As expected, Jason Mraz's Beautiful Mess: Live on Earth does not disappoint. Jason delivers on all levels with his originality and authentically courageous petitions for universal love. For someone like myself who missed the actual tour when it came to my city, the dvd does more than put you right in the heart of all of the positivity. This soul stirring performance will take you to an elevated place of consciousness that will leave you comtemplative about the simple pleasures of life. Many thanks to you Mr. A-Z for sharing the Mrazian Fever!

    Great live performance

Ordered the CD and received a DVD of the live concert too. Live musical performance, not showy, just real. The hits are changed up while keeping their appeal. Love it.

    more from this reviewer

    It's amazing-this album

In this album Jason Mraz brings out the originality of his hit songs as well as show his growth as a singer by singing his more previous songs like "Boy's Gone". The screaming and cheering of the crowd can get on your nerve sometimes but with Jason's excellent live singing and great musical harmony of the band, this album will knock your socks off!!!
