The Kingston Trio made their reputation with great folk songs sung with heart and passion. They were also known and even liked for the wisecracking comments, usually before or after the presentation of a song in "Live" recordings such as "From the Hungry-I" Album. While distracting in "The Hungry-I" Album -especially when one has to listen to the same wisecracks repeatedly when playing such greats as the "Shady Grove/Lonesome Traveler" medley, it is still bearable. However, the butchering of the great song "Greenback Dollar" in this current "Live" album to just too much. What once worked many years ago is a dismal failure in this current "Live" album. Sure it is an economy album and I expect this over-done wise-cracking performance is exactly why it is offered at such a low price. Don't waste your "Greenback Dollar" -especially if you buy the album for this song-even at the economy price.
