I love stories about struggle and ultimate survival. This story tells me a story of strength, love, pain, and survival. It flows beautifully from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this book to everyone as an excellent read.
I have but one word.............POWERFUL! Lives Shattered drew me in an held me in its grasp, sharing the intensity of this mother's experience. This book is absolutely a MUST READ!
This story is incredible. It is well written, and flows very well. The writing conveys the emotional strength needed to deal with adversity and make it through to life on the other side of tragedy. The reader is engaged immediately. I liked that the author let the reader come to their own thoughts about the story. The story arcs are all there. And told wonderfully. This book will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend it.
This book was ok..sad story about how the justice system failed a mother. The format was a little rough skipped around a lot. I think it would have been more effective if the author had started at the beginning like her childhood and went from there but it skipped from her marriage to her childhood and back again. The author also added ger own little rants about the courts or certain people that could have been left out, I understand she feels she was wronged but just takes away from the story. I also wish she would have put in a little more about her children and the relationship between her and them in more recent years. We hear all about how much her exhusbands tries turning the children against her when they are younger then all of a sudden her and her daughter are talking at her graduation...how did they get to that point? How did she get her cnildren to not resent her as she talks about throughout the entire book...This is just an ok read wouldn't recommend
