Are We Living in The End Times, and What Should We Be Doing About It?

We know that at this very moment we are living in the prophetic end days the Bible predicted thousands of years ago. We see an oil crisis in the Middle East, the resurgence of Russia, and a new axis of evil forming, Israel's importance as well as new powers forming in the European Union. Yet in the midst of these world crises, how as Christians do we deal with them?

This is a great book I read and finished in the same day by Thomas Nelson publishers. It gives insight in how to deal with the very things, we in the United States, are dealing with right now. The loss of jobs, the foreclosures of homes everywhere, and even the huge losses in the financial industry, yet, we can rejoice. We have a hope that outlasts this world into our future home in heaven.

This book offers the biblical answers of what as Christians we should be doing each and every day to prevent the stresses and anxiety from overwhelming us. The book takes you through the ten steps, every Christian must know in facing the coming signs. The book offers Biblical instruction to guide you through handling each and every situation as well as real world headlines to show how others didn't handle it so well. From the banking and financial turmoil striking our banks and mortgage industries we are shown how some such as Adolf Merckle, heir to the Merck & Co. pharmaceutical company, took his own life rather than deal with the issues at hand.

There are stories ripped right from the headlines today, such as the conviction of Laura Ling and Euna Lee in North Korea for spying when they were there just to report on human trafficking; how a family in San Diego was informed that they could no longer conduct a Bible Study in their home, due to unlawful religious assembly without a permit; or the constant persecution by the media and Hollywood of the Christian religion and the mockery of Jesus Christ. The current North Korean and Iran nuclear programs are discussed as well as past histories of some of the holocaust survivors and how they handled adversity that we too are finding ourselves dealing with.

The back cover suggests the answers to the most urgent questions, including

    * How can we weather this storm with a calm heart?
    * What does it truly mean to "wait on the Lord"?
    * What is Jesus saying to our chaotic world today?
    * How on earth did we get into this mess?
    * Can we take a broken world and rebuild it into something fruitful?

The book is a must read. It has completely changed my entire outlook on the lives, we as Christians, should be living up until that day that our Lord returns. Each day that passes is one day closer to His imminent return and He is coming back. The choice for the believer is how do we want to be seen living our last days when He does come back for us.

Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World by Dr. David Jeremiah

Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World offers hope to people worried about our current, mind-boggling economic crises, other potentially catastrophic events, and increasingly difficult, personal struggles of life. New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Jeremiah examines a variety of traumatic situations and offers wise solutions richly backed up by the Word of God. With the added use of extensive research and scores of thought-provoking anecdotes, the author shows us that God has answers for the world's problems. But He needs individual believers to help Him provide them.

In this easy-to-read book laid out in his usual concise and logical manner, Dr. Jeremiah challenges us to examine our lives and weigh them against the words and walk of Jesus Christ. In ten main topics such as "Stay Challenged," "Stay Compassionate," and "Stay Connected," he reminds us that while prayer is important, it's only the first step to fulfilling the plan of God. We must also lay aside selfish pursuits and embrace the admonition to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. When we truly become living epistles, hurting and fearful people in our spheres of influence will be drawn to the One we should represent and reflect.

I don't rate a book a 5-star unless it really moves me. Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World is one of those books. It inspires me to live a Christ-like life more than ever before, take up my cross on a daily basis to follow Jesus, and trust God and His Word to take care of the rest. I highly recommend it.

    Stay

As expected, the message is biblical, relevant, and encouraging. The writing is comfortable and easy to read. After an introduction that reminds us, in some very interesting ways, just how chaotic things have gotten in the past year, Dr. Jeremiah calmly and patiently reminds us of great truths. He consistently points to Christ as our Savior and only hope.

I am consistently in need of reminders of what God has done for me, what He promises me, and how I should respond. This book is a great reminder, every chapter provides Scripture and practical evidence of the Truth and what my response should be.

    A great book!!!

This is not a book is not one that I would have gone to the bookstore and picked out on my own. As I usually lean towards Amish Fiction or family focused. This book however was a very good and easy read. I became engrossed in the every page with all details in facts, solid Bible referencing and humor. He was able to grasp the questions I have been having about where the world is and was able to give me ease in what I have been feeling. His focus on the "One and Another" ministry and the sacred need as Christians growing through the one on one and small group ministries, truly touched my heart. As Christians, we should be focused on God and preparing those around us for our journey home.
This book is great for those who feel that they have lost everything, those who have questions about where this world is going, and for those who are looking for reassurance in God's plans. I will definitely be passing this book along.

Living With Confidence in A Chaotic World by Dr. David Jeremiah

This is a fantastic book but really should be book2 of a two part sell. This book will calm you down if you are in a state of crisis over the turmoil and unease that is going on around us as the world literally crumbles ..but is it really falling apart? What does God promise?
Rread this book and buy one for that frazzled neighbor you have been worring over. Hope is not lost; hope is ours because of the promise of God. I can not really say more without spoiling the book -- buy this one its a must read.

Book Review of "Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World" by Dr. David Jeremiah

This was an incredible book with lots of helpful information. The author, Dr. David Jeremiah does a great job illustrating how we should behave and how to go forward in a chaotic ever changing world. This book encourages faith and hope in Jesus Christ. It encourages love for one another and all mankind. This book serves as a reminder that even though everything in the world may seem to be falling apart around us, we can still have a solid foundation with God and his son Christ Jesus. The book focuses on several main points that are demonstrated in each chapter. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends, family and anyone else for that matter to share the good information and the truth of Jesus Christ. Exactly what everyone needs to read to truly be confident in our current world.

What a great book that gives us several Biblical references to God's promises to us and how we can be confident when the world is in chaos. Being in the Word and being constantly reminded of what we have in Him is the most effective tool in being confident when the world around us in shambles. This book points us to the specific places in the Word where we can read about these Truths and calm our hearts.

I found this book to be a great reminder of exactly what we need to remember to keep us from getting caught up in the crises of this world. We are in a time of chaos with our economy and so many people are seeking answers and comfort as to how to cope in these hard times. This book points us to the ONLY place where those answers can be found, the Bible. Not only is this book a reminder for Christians, it would be a wonderful way for non-believers to be introduced to the hope that they can have in Jesus. I highly recommend this book and plan to introduce it to family and friends who I know could use a secure and unfailing hope no matter what any of us have faced, are facing or will face in this world. God is bigger than any of this chaos and we can fully put our confidence in Him.

    A life changing read

Dr. Jeremiah reminds us that even during today's uncertain, chaotic times, God has promised to always be here for us. We need to find comfort in trusting Him and His plan for us. He explains that we need to remain calm, compassionate, constructive, challenged, connected, centered, confident, consistent, committed, and convinced in our daily lives.

For each characteristic that he tells us to practice, he explains how and why through stories and lots of Scriptural quotations. Dr. Jeremiah uses the Word of God to teach us how to have hope and confidence.

In his book, he discusses some of today's events and shows how they fit in with the Bible's end-time prophesies. I really enjoyed reading the parallels between what's happening in our world today and what God tells us will happen during the apocalypse.
I found this book to be very motivational and reassuring. Too often we get caught up in today's struggles and forget that God is in charge of our journey. For believers, this book should serve as a wake up call to remember what God has told us about the end times.

At the end of the book, Dr. Jeremiah asks us two questions. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't read the book yet but I will tell you that if you read this book with an open heart and an open mind, this book has the potential to be life changing.
