Aaron is a young boy, who had severe sickle cell complications. He was only about 6 months when he first experienced what is called sickle cell crisis. Eirian is Aaron's brother who also has sickle cell and also experienced his first crisis at the same age as Aaron did, at only about 6 months. He started having quite a lot of complications and thanks to the advancement in medicine, the doctors decided to start him early on Hydroxycarbamide which has helped stabilise his sickle a little. Although the question for us has always been for how long can he take this medication?
