Meet the Author


Steve Flowers, MFT, conducts mindfulness-based stress reduction online programs and is the founder and director of the mindfulness-based stress reduction clinic at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, CA. He also works in private practice as a psychotherapist.

Bob Stahl, PhD, is the founder and director of the mindfulness-based stress reduction programs at Dominican Hospital, O’Connor Hospital, and El Camino Hospital. Bob serves as a senior teacher for Oasis, an institute for mindfulness-based professional education and innovation. Bob is the guiding teacher at Insight Santa Cruz and visiting teacher at Spirit Rock and Insight Meditation Society. He is coauthor of Living with Your Heart Wide Open, the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook, and Calming the Rush of Panic. Stahl lives in Santa Cruz, CA.


Foreword writer Tara Brach, PhD,has been practicing meditation since 1975 and leads Buddhist meditation retreats at centers throughout North America. She is a clinical psychologist and author of Radical Acceptance and True Refuge.
