Overview

All the military training in the world won’t help him knock down her walls.

The McLaughlins, Book 3

Years ago a terrifying attack left Kenzie McLaughlin trusting only a few men in her insular life on Whidbey Island—her brothers and her father. But when a sexy Navy guy who waltzes into the family pub doesn’t hesitate to makes his interest known, no amount of mental red flags are enough to keep her from being tempted to dip a toe back into the dating pool.

Twice burned in the past, Brett Craven has sworn off serious relationships, at least while he’s still in the Navy. A gorgeous redhead with a fiery wit and wariness of men, though, has blown his well-reasoned strategy out of the water.

There’s no denying the attraction between the two, but Kenzie teeters on a tightrope anchored on one end by hope, the other by caution. Because if she lets her guard down long enough to fall for Brett, it could leave her vulnerable to the one man who’s been left free to prey upon her fear.

Warning: This book contains a sexy Navy Chief and a gun-shy redhead. Make-out sex. Full-on sex. Whisky tasting. And a douchebag villain who can’t forget the one who got away.

Loch and Key was a fun and exciting read. Anyone who has read the other two novels with the McLaughlin family knows how fierce they love, how amazing they protect, and how tough their exteriors are....so don't expect a dainty and polite Kenzie McLaughlin! The sparks between Kenzie and Brett were so hot it made me need the fan on! Seriously...buy this book...Shelli Stevens is amazing and has knocked this third installment of the McLaughlin family series out of the park!

Wow!  I totally loved Brett!  Alpha male who is tender, loving, sexy!  He was the perfect match for Kenzie.  I wondered when reading the first two books in this series how her story would play out.  What kind of man she would need.  And he was truly perfect and understanding for her.   Colin, Ian and Aleck - still wonderful older protective brothers.  Love how they are with Kenzie.  As any brothers should be.  Delonna, Hailey and Sarah are awesome girlfriends who seriously crack me up.  Love their friendship. Kenzie and Brett are amazing together. Their chemistry is off the charts.  It was nice to see them come together and work their issues out honestly and realistically.  My only fault with this book would be that a certain situation was over with quickly.  But that is more because of my vengeful personality.  Would have liked a little more come uppance. Definitely cannot wait for Aleck's book.  Can only imagine the heat from his story!

Kenzie Mclaughlin's had her share of troubles. The one guy she's halfway been interested in the last few years will be living on a ship for six months. So she does something she hasn't done in a while. She flirts with him and then agrees to dinner. Six months from now. Fast forward six months and Brett Craven hasn't forgotten Kenzie. The two have a lot to work out and I enjoyed every minute of them getting to their happy-ever-after. Sometimes it's more about the journey than the destination. I loved this book. The series just keeps getting better. Cannot wait for the next
