Overview

The fast-paced debut thriller from the publisher of Lee Child and Tess Gerritsen.

A DEADLY MISSION
It may be Christmas Eve in New York, but for ex-military bodyguard Ryan Lock it's business as usual. His task: to protect one of America's most ruthless businessmen.

A BLOODY SHOOT-OUT
Suddenly gunshots ring out. People run for cover. Innocent people are mown down. Amid the chaos, Lock's hunt for the killers turns into an explosive game of cat and mouse.

ONLY ONE MAN CAN SAVE NEW YORK
Lock's search for the truth takes him to a heavily fortified warehouse on the Hudson where he confronts one of the world's most dangerous women, a deadly Chechen black widow seeking revenge against America. As the clock ticks towards midnight on New Year's Eve, Lock realizes that not only is his own life in terrible danger but so are the lives of millions of others...

"This series is ace. There are deservedly strong Lee Child comparisons as the author is also a Brit, his novels US-based, his character appealing, and his publisher the same." - Sarah Broadhurst, The Bookseller
"An impressive debut novel featuring one of the finest female villains since Ian Fleming's Rosa Klebb...this is a writer, and a hero, to watch" - The Daily Mail
"Like Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Lock is an ex-military policeman. Unlike Reacher, he has a job (as an elite bodyguard), a home, friends and a sense of humour. Lock's likeability contrasts with Reacher's pomposity and Black's style is supremely slick" - The Daily Telegraph

Other books in the series include Deadlock, Gridlock, and The Devil's Bounty.

"Sean Black writes with the pace of Lee Child, and the heart of Harlan Coben. Lockdown is a sure-fire winner" - Joseph Finder, New York Times Bestselling Author of Buried Secrets
"Funny, tough, and furiously paced, Lockdown explodes off the page" - Jesse Kellerman
"Readers, meet Ryan Lock—a tough-guy hero for a new age. Lockdown takes you on a mission through the animal rights movement, into the corporate corridors of power, and out through the dark alleys of Manhattan. Hold on tight—this one burns like a lit fuse." – Gregg Hurwitz, Internationally Bestselling Author of You're Next
"This is the future of thriller writing...the heir apparent to Lee Child." Ken Bruen, Internationally Bestselling Author of The Guards

Editorial Reviews

The Daily Mail - Geoffrey Wansell
"An impressive debut thriller from Sean Black that introduces a new full-on action hero. Clearly influenced by Lee Child and Joseph Finder, Black drives his hero into the tightest spots with a force and energy that jump off the page. He still has a little to learn when it comes to depth of character and pacing, but that won't take long. Lock is clearly going to be around for a long time. With a spine-tingling finale that reminded me of Die Hard, this is a writer, and a hero, to watch."

Lots of action in This One!

Sean Lock has worked at different professions and is an excellent bodyguard and a loyal friend. In this book, he rescues a dog, and protects a young boy named Josh, whose father has gotten in over his head. There is terrorism, counter terrorism, visuses, animal testing--luckily not much--, and a woman named Mareta who wants to blow herself up--if she can take as many people with her as possible. Oh, almost forgot the beautiful TV reporter who has the hots for Lock

This is my first Sean Black book and I was very pleased. I love Black's writing style. Ryan Lock is the next great action hero.
