The trials, tribulations, enemies, joys, fears, supernatural dangers, and adventures of the Locke family are compelling - I can't wait for the next volume to come out! Joe Hill's story and his characters never stop surprising and touching my heart, and his villains are terrifying and gruesome. It's not for Pollyannas, or the faint of heart, this series. No character is exempt from horrors, or even death. But boy, do you want them to come through and survive, and eventually find healing and contentment. The set-up is irresistible: A spooky old house full of doors with special powers, with all the keys hidden in various ways and places. Put a guilt-ridden teenager, his emotionally scarred but tough younger sister, and their over-inquisitive little brother into that house - oh, did I mention the thing in the well out in the spooky old locked-up wellhouse? The art work is *exquisite*. I go through these books over and over again just drinking in the art, the details, the *perfection* of this vision. This will be a classic, I'm sure of it.

I have loved the Locke and Key series ever since hearing about it reviewed on Fresh Ink. I know the story is wrapping up and I will hate to see it go but all good things must come to an end. If you have not read any of these start at Vol #1 and you will not be disappointed.

I'm so thankful for all the explanations and background given on the overall Lovecraft area from this book. It really helped pull everything together. The last installment had left me feeling like there wasn't really a direction, but this leveled everything out. I'm very interested to see what's going to happen in the next volume.

So, what more can I say about the series so far that I haven't already said? The art getting better with each volume? Check. The characters going through more than they thought they would and you're just wondering, when will they catch a break and how much more can they deal with before it gets too much? Check. More twists and turns you didn't think could occur but throughout, it makes you want to keep turning the page to know what will happen next? Check. Oh and there's some backstory in this as well. Really good volume.

Great continuing story line, this one fills you in on all the back story and explains everything. I'm upset there is only one vol. left i do not want this series to end.
