This was a good book to read. I recommend it to individuals interested in locs as a lifestyle, not just a hairstyle.

I just begun my loc journey and I needed to connect with others. This book has definitely helped me. I love to hear about other sisters that have gone through the process and their experiences. Because I am just beginning, my locs are in the baby stage and the negative comments from others are very cutting. I was just recently told I wasn't professional due to the way my hair looks. Similar to Kalimah, I am a strong, African American woman and Master Social Worker. I take great pride in my professionalism,so those words did cut however superficial. As I continue down this spiritual path, I hope that my process can also help someone one day.
