This is a sweet, wholesome romance/mystery.
Maddy has filed for divorce yet still loves her ex, Kenneth. She has also discovered that the man who raised her, is not her birth father. Using her antiques business as the reason, she returns to her family home to open a new shop. Under her guise of working for a new start in life, she begins to search for her birth father. The man who raised her and loved her all her life is the one who helps her find her strength through the love of her family, to realize that she is not alone. Her sister’s love and willingness to help her, teach her that life is what you make of it…if you have the courage to face it head on and grow.
This novel has an interesting story line and a mystery that had me going trying to figure it out. The characters are very likeable, they’re funny, quirky and full of life, weaving a rich tapestry as the story unfolds.. The writing is tight and a bit colloquial, adding a down home feeling from a time when gas was sixty nine cents a gallon. The story holds your interest and even the secondary characters are enjoyable. It covers, love, disappointment, courage and out of the midst of trouble comes a time when Maddy realizes that through pain comes the promise of a future with hope, love and a chance for new tomorrows.
