Brain-bending Puzzles to Challenge and Entertain

I was first introduced to logic puzzles during my last years of grade school and I've been addicted to them ever since. I bought this book hoping for some fun, challenging puzzles and I have yet to be disappointed. There are approximately 64 puzzles in all which utilize a variety of skills including basic mathematics (e.g. averaging, fraction and decimal conversions, data comparisons and conversions, sorting, etc). Don't be fooled: although a few random puzzles are very simple, many of them are quite complex and require careful thought and lots of critical thinking in addition to the math skills to reach a solution. Take the word of a civil engineer, this book will have your mind bending for hours. I also recommend that you magnify and xerox or recreate the charts that are provided to help you work out the solution (include space for notes). And make sure you use a pencil and a big eraser. Solutions are provided in the back of the book for all problems.

If you love logic puzzles - this one will please

As someone always on the hunt for a good logic puzzle book to take with me on my annual vacation to the Florida Keys, I found this pick to be an excellent choice. I was able to work some of the puzzles very quickly, however, there were many others that challenged me completely and a few that truly bent my brain. I really enjoyed learning to master the logic puzzle grid system to solve the puzzles, before using this book I had always wondered how to utilize them to solve but after solving just a few of the easier puzzles and muddling my way though a few more something clicked and I was on my way to easily solving the more complicated ones. I recommend using a calculator on the more difficult multiplication problems and as always using a pencil to solve the puzzles. Enjoy!

Logic puzzles help tame the mind.

having this book around helps slow things down a bit as I revert inward to focus on solving skills. Ya gotta love this stuff.
