This book is wonderful. It explains with great detail how Al Anon began. Lois was one of the most inspiring people that I have read about. She suffered greatly but was always hopeful that she would find a solution. She discovered that love really isn't enough to help an alcoholic. Through her faith in her Higher Power, she modeled the 12 steps of AA into powerful tools that the families of alcoholics can use. It was a great source of hope and strength for me, to understand the beginning of this great movement.

This is where all the 12 step programs began! These people are heros ti those of us who are affected by the disease of alcoholism! The Hallmaek movie is great. Barry Pepper and Winona Ryder. Really help us feel the agony.
