This band is brilliant. This album is a perfect example of why The Clash are sometimes called the only band that ever mattered. They have influenced so many other bands that it would be impossible to determine the number. If anyone ever tries to tell you that The Clash weren't revolutionary and weren't punk, tell them that they don't understand what real punk is. If want the best of punk rock, London Calling is the way to go.

Ok this band is crud. I'm tired of people making it seem like this band is so amazing. Wow, they talk about a bunch of stuff that no one knows what they are talking about and I'm tired of people thinking these guys are punk. In order for it to be punk, you have to have energy. What do they have? Basically all they have are little old boring songs. Now Bad Brains and Minor Threat is an awsome band! You want to talk about a revolution. They contributed more to music than the Clash. All the Clash contributed to music was a bunch of trying to be cool bands saying that this stupid band was their inspiration. This band is almost as bad as Dead Kennedys and the Misfits... (now that's bad).

I could write about how absolutely amazing this album is, but trying to put its influence and sheer brilliance into words would do it injustice. I honestly cant find the words to describe it. Instead, I want to pay a tribute to Joe Strummer, who was taken from us at the age of only 50. I listen to his music every day, his voice engrained in me forever. I lovingly cherish my Clash albums and Strummer's later work with the Mescaleros. Today, rock and roll is beginning to turn into an image, a money-making scheme.But back in the days of the Clash, rock was a sheer force of pure music that barrelled over you like a tank and changed you forever. Their concerts were mesmerizing, and their music touched a part of me and I was never the same. The only times that I ever felt truly alive was when I was blasting the Clash through my speakers, and feeling the music rush over me down to my toes. Joe Strummer made incredible, powerful songs. He was a not just a brilliant musician but a beautiful, kind person. He cared about his fans and all of the people all over the world. He made music for me and you. Every time that I hear one of his songs, tears come to my eyes. But with the tears comes a deep, power feeling as though the music is lifting me up. Every time. No other band will ever be as brilliant of a force and inspiration as the Clash. Joe Strummer was my hero. Thank you, thank you for the music.

Loved the london Calling song. It's a great CD and the length of it is long...but not lasting(which is a nice hour of entertainment and pure Joe Strummer and Nick Jones). Buy the CD and it'll rock u on.

The Clash is a great example of what PUNK really is. Not these money grabbing geling haired freaks. No these guys are PUNK. They are beyond punk. They invented punk. Better then listening to wanna be's like Good Charolette. Great Album has a lot of their greatest hits. There's so many more to listen too.

I heard this album before when I was 11. Now I am 13. A fan of Rock n Roll. This album is the best of the 80's and the late 70's. The Songs were the best. Man. Beatiful Guitar sounds. When I heard it on LP. Was Different. Man. It got everything original and the Cover too. And the inner Sleave too. When my father took me to the record store. I went to the rock section. Find the Clash. When I found this album. I become shocked. We bought it. It said the contains that the original artwork of the 79' Realised. It was true. Include the same way as the lyrics, same pictures, same thing but it is better to own it on CD but mostly on LP Record cause will cost alot of money and HArd to find. A great album. And a great band. The band that only matters.

yeah.. this album is so great.. as much hype as it gets.. it's worth it.. i bought it after i heard "safe european home" on rude boy -- it was on tv at my grandmothers.. and i was like.. that song rocks.. must get Cd.. well i ended up getting "London Calling".. listening and being like.. wow.. good band.. then i got Clash City Rockers.. tehehe.. i never bought Give 'Em enough rope (which has safe european home on it)... just get all the clash you can and enjoy - Joe and Mick were both insane rhythm guitarists.. and the bottom line is-- the music is incredible.

london calling is arguably one of the best rock album's ever, you cant really get sick of their music, its addicting to listen to over and over again. *RIP Joe Strummer*

I bought this CD cause I liked some of The Clash's songs (rock the casbah, should i stay or should i go). When I first listened to the CD, i didn't like it. I thought the vocals were strange. Then second time, i loved it. i loved it for the lyrics and the guitar riffs. the CD is a little wierd, but in a good way.

London Calling is the only Album that matters from the only band that matters. Well, ok the Clash did have some really good albums, but London Calling takes the cake. Not only did the Clash come into their own by fusing R&B with Punk, but they did it better then any band of their time. The Jam attempted to do this with the Mod Revival but with London Calling the Clash out did them. London Calling is also the album that told the world that punk didn't have to be loud, fast, abrasive, or obscene. London Calling is one of the most important albums in Rock and Roll and it's good, clean, fun.

this great album by 'the clash' is so versatile that, it's like listening to three albums at once. it has so many dimensions that getting bored with it is not an option. from the anti-goverment song 'london calling' to the last song 'train in vain' [stand by me], is a remarkable journey for this classic double album. if this review is not convincing enough, check out the low, low' price at barnes&noble. you won't be sorry.
