I want to begin this review by saying I'm NOT a reader of romances. My genre preferences are something completely different. However, I was scouring BN, looking for NookBooks, when I noticed a book come across the selections list with cupcakes on the cover, and the word 'London' in the title. There were two reasons this book caught my eye: 1.)Cupcakes (which I shall now call Fairy Cakes) are my WEAKNESS. I love them. I even drink a flavored hot tea called "Cupcake Luv". 2.)It has always been a goal of mine to visit London. (In fact, I was searching for books about Tudor London when I found this story).
I didn't even take time to read the summary. It was completely an impulse buy, and the price was BRILLIANT.
Well, I was hooked from the first page! The tension between the two characters is well written. I made fun of myself for actually bawling when the characters would come close to letting their feelings be known and then end up backing away from each other.
The ending was nicely tied up...and I suggest a sequel. A sequel wherein they return to London, she goes to work for the Royals and eventually they start a family. Or maybe that's just me wishing the story would never have ended.
Take it from someone who doesn't like reading romances, but was drawn to purchase by the cupcakes on the cover: You will not regret purchasing this book.

I happened upon this book and gave it a try, and I couldn't stop clicking through the pages to see what happened next. The author manages to plausibly get the two main characters connected in a really inventive way, and both the romantic tension and some unintentional comedy keep them together throughout the entire book. I am not a fan of romance novels that defy all logic; of course there needs to be the romance and fantasy--having the Royal Family in the story is neat--but you end up rooting for Aimee and Simon to get together because by the end you have so much invested in their respective characters. Great first novel and hope there's more to come!

I'll admit that my love of Scotties is what first drew me to this book, but it was much more than that, that kept me reading. I fell in love with Aimee and Simom, and had to know what happened with them. This is not my usual genre, but I enjoyed this book so much! I would love to read more from Emma Carr!!

This story was so cute. You can't help but fall in love with Aimee and Simon. Even Cupcake, the Scottie dog steals your heart. I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys feel good romances.

I don't actually remember buying this book - must've done it late one night after reading the sample. Anyway, I was in the middle of another rather heavy tome that I am compelled to finish because it is the final in a series - but I needed a break from it. Well, what a surprise. London Falling is a delightful book. There is a part of me that wants to see it fleshed out, and a part of me that is giving it the 'first novel' critique, but I am loving it, so perhaps all my imagined improvements would steal some of the fun from it. Great job, Emma. I really hope you continue - and please keep it in an English setting. There's a wee bit of Jilly Cooper in this read - and she is the funniest romance author of all time.

Once I started reading I could not put it down. The description of London makes you feel like you are there with Aimee. The different predicaments she gets herself into are hysterical and it made me laugh out loud. The chemistry between Aimee and Simon is wonderful and you truly hope that they get together. This is one book I will read over and over again. I can't wait for Emma's next book. It's sure to be just as good as London Falling!

I loved this book. It was so funny. I couldn't put the book down and then I got my mom to read it as well. Then she couldn't put the book down. I would love it if Emma Carr came out with a sequel or just another book. She is now on my top author list. I was drawn to the cover of the book because of the scottie and thought why not. I have told a lot of my friends to read this book and they all loved it. So buy the book you will love it.

I usually read mysteries, but when I get bogged down, I like to read romantic comedies to lighten my day ... like Jill Mansell or Sophie Kinsella. I was very surprised that Emma Carr was right up there with those two gals as far as well-written, interesting, fun and just what I needed for a break.

This was an excellent book...I could not put it down. It is romantic, heart warming and funny. It made me think about friendships and giving people a chance in life, rather than allowing fear of rejection rule.
Ms. Carr, please continue to write. You have a gift to share!

This is a great time off book. I have a two month break between classes and "serious scholastic" reading and I love books like this. I can't wait until Ms. Carr writes again.
The beginning was a little corny as to how Aimee got in Simon's house but I have to say living in London and at the prospect of living on the streets for even one night would make me do crazy things too. Other than that I loved the fairy cakes, the aunt and other aspects that all came together in the story.

I love her witty style and the way she created such a refreshing plot, so different from many books of this genre. A great read overall! I can't wait until she comes out with more books!

Very intriguing read! Well written and extremely romantic, but not sappy. It has enough adventure and mystery not to be too sappy! I would definitely recommend this book.
