    Love Lonely Planet Guidebooks but.....

    I was so pleased to find the ebook version of the Lonely Planet Costa Rica guidebook. Lonely Planet is my favorite guidebook; we must have at least 20. Unfortunately the ebook version is not ready for prime time. There is no index and the search function is not an adequate replacement. The links don't work correctly and navigation is incredibly slow. I eagerly await the next version.......

    Excellent historical information with some holes

    I found this book to be quite informative as far as the fact that Costa Rica disbanded its military and put the money into education, and also in its history of the city of Monteverde and the lack of paved roads into the city. However, I found some of the local business recommendations already outdated, for example, Down to Earth coffee house was highly rated, however at this time this business only sells coffee beans and does not offer brewed coffee or a cafe of any sort. I was also interested to discover upon visiting Costa Rica that the bacteria they use to process used water does not decompose toilet paper, so all toilet paper is to be placed in a wastebasket near the toilet. I did not find this fact in the book.
