VERY useful Guide on the ground / budget

VERY useful guide on the ground even if you are on a budget (other guides only give you the big touristic hotels) and especially if you travel solo ie. not with a tour guide and book your own local transportation ( tarifs + distances are indicated). And great to explain local attractions and how much things should cost you. Avoids rip offs.
    Only 2 things:
    1. no photos. So it is best if you don't have an idea of where to go to first make a search on the internet to get a visual of where you want to go.
    2. Heavy... so if you only visit one particular area you better off using their regional guides. But if you roam around then you just need this 1 guide and it's perfect.
    hope that helps.

Very useful ebook for travel to India

Thank you Lonely Planet for making this available as an ebook. So much lighter to take than a paperback. Unfortunately the maps don't enlarge so their value is minimal. The key to the maps seems to never be on the page I'm using so toggling back and forth is the name of the game. However, it's a great all in one book for Indian travel.

    Lonely Planet

Liked the information on mountain trecks - especially given that it is not that easy to find. Book has a lot of random information that can be of great use. - Jai Kapadia
