    more from this reviewer

Over 12 days in BA I found this guide most helpful. The maps the tourist agencies and others provide are not printed by the four points of the compass. The one in this guide is, so rely on it and not the others. I did pass the guide on to a newcomer.

To capture a city of 18 million in a small book is quite a feat. I did miss the Thursday demonstration of the mothers for their missing children. And could not locate the museum dedicated to the missing people.
I found three museums I wanted to visit were closed for renovations. I couldn't find any of the movies recommended in the DVD section in the guidebook in bookstores. So I did buy some others, more on speculation. They are not expensive.
Argentina has limited agreements on roaming, so I had to buy a MoviStar SIMM card. There are not as many shops for that as internet cafes. Those vary in age of equipment, speed and cost. The ones on Florida are more dear.
The first nights I stayed at Hotel Montserrat on Chile (an inexpensive place not in the book). It should be. There was a vegetarian resaurant out on Chile (not in the book). Later I stayed on Bodeo where it crosses Moreno and found a Chinese vegetarian takeaway nearby (excellent food, also not in the book). So the message is walk, observe and you will find lots of interesting and rewarding places that are not included-BA is just too big for that!
