We used this book on a recent trip to the US and British Virgin Islands. We found the information somewhat out of date and not detailed enough. The social climate of the Islands is complex and the guide did not go into that. We also used Explore the Virgin Islands by Pariser and found his guide to be better. The maps are easier to use and he has great tips and other information not found elswhere (ie, the lonely planet guide). We learned about the latter book through an online review and we also bought the lonely planet book due to their established reputation, which seems to be changing in these times.
