Abby Delaney has suffered a tragic divorce and winds up living with her aunt at Corbin's Bend. She moves there for a fresh start and a chance to heal over love lost. What she doesn't expect is to find a reason to trust herself and her heart.
Harris Montgomery is used to flings and never commitment. When he meets Abby he knows something different but as their relationship grows he finds himself changing in way he'd never imagine possible.
Long Shot shows us what happens when you give your heart a chance to find love again. When you least expect it, that's when it hits. While it's not always an easy road sometimes it's the journey that's worth the winding path.

5 stars = I freaking LOVED this book
Ms. Bristol takes us back to Corbin's Bend as Abby moves to her aunt's apartment as she attempts to get her life back on track after divorcing her high school sweetheart whose gambling cost them her grandmother's house and her collection of antiques. Abby is fortunate that she is able to work for her aunt in her antiques shop, giving her the opportunity to start over while doing something she loves. As fate would have it, she meets Harris, a single resident of Corbin's Bend that her aunt thinks will be perfect for her, while moving in to get aunt's apartment. Although Harris finds Abby attractive, he thinks her too vanilla and decides he's going to cancel on going to Auntie Q's for dinner. That is, until he stops by the shop the following day to talk to Quincy only to find Abby stocking the store with some new antiques ... paddles, floggers, and even a couple of spanking benches. Once he notices that her blush isn't entirely due to embarrassment and that her touch lingers on the leather implements, his sparks of attraction from the day before begin to smolder and he decides to see where things may lead.
Fortunately Abby agrees to go on a date with Harris and we get front row seats to an entertaining read as they explore a domestic discipline relationship even though they aren't living together nor dating seriously as Harris is anti-marriage due to his parents' multiple failed marriages. I'll just say that when THAT conversation occurred, I found myself chuckling as the always confident and in control Harris developed a terrible case of foot-in-mouth disease. But as expected, all is not smooth sailing as the relationship between the two develops and they have to deal with Abby's ex and how his past behavior has such an impact on her life and mindset.
Not only does Ms. Bristol provide an entertaining installment to the Corbin's Bend series, she also injects a bit of action into the story. And no, I wasn't referring to bedroom action either - although that was pretty freaking hot as Harris seems to have a bit of Dom in him. Long Shot is a great addition to the Corbin's Bend series and I'll be checking out more of Ms. Bristol's writing.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Vanilla Girl Meet Spanking Professional Poker Player
Another wonderful addition to the Corbin's Bend Series. Each book can read as a stand-alone, but are too good to miss out on any of them. Corbin's Bend is a private community about an hour or so away from Denver, CO. It is a unique community in that it is designed for individuals, couples and even families that practice a "domestic discipline" lifestyle.
Abby Delaney, a vanilla girl, has come to Corbin's Bend to live with her Great Aunt Quincy, a widow, who also runs an antique shop. Abby is divorced and beat down after losing everything during the divorce including her late grandmother's house and all the antiques. Her ex gambled their life away. Aunt Quincy and her late husband practiced a DD lifestyle, she is also a perpetual matchmaker! Harris Montgomery is a resident of Corbin's Bend, owns the local car wash, tennis pro, and very successful professional poker player and resigned to never marry because of his parents and their multiple failed marriages. Harris enjoys the DD lifestyle but does not want to be seriously involved in any relationship. Bring in a meddling matchmaking Aunt and chemistry and you bring Abby and Harris together. But, can they survive when their differences surface.

Cara Bristol never disappoints. After the Rod and Cain Society series, I was anxious to see what she would bring to
the Corbin Bend books. Long Shot is filled with characters that are real and believable. The story is compelling and keeps the reader's attention throughout. This is a good stand alone as well as being a part of the series. Fantastic job once again!

Abby moves to live with her Aunt Quincy in Corbin’s Bend to recoup from her recent divorce. She had married her high school sweetheart only to discover his gambling addiction that gradually ruined their lives together. She meets Harris, a devotee to the lifestyle of the Bend and discovers that she feels intense fulfillment when they begin a DD lifestyle – despite the fact that Harris tells her he will never marry. It is going very well until she discovers that Harris is a professional poker player. Determined not to repeat her bad history, she runs from the man she had fallen deeply in love with. After a dinner with friends in Denver, she is put into a situation where she needs to discover if life is simply for living or if she can take a Long Shot and find true happiness. This is another book in the Corbin’s Bend series. It is a short, easy read and if you like spanking with a bit of spice, you’ll love this one.Was this review helpful? Oh Ms. Bristol, I was anxiously waiting for your contribution to this series and I am thrilled with this book. As a huge fan of your Rod and Cane series I was secretly hoping this would follow along those lines and it did! Woo Hoo!! This is, obviously, book 5 in the Corbin's Bend series but it stands alone wonderfully! Abby is a sweet but sassy young woman who unfortunately has moved to her Aunt's house to lick her wounds from a messy marriage and divorce, but oh does she hit the jackpot when she meets Harris! Can you spell HOT, I mean really! Their romance is sizzling hot and whew, make sure you have a fan when you read this and some time to read uninterrupted if possible, once I started reading I did not put it down until I finished it! Very well done!!

K. Tyler: Book 5 This is the story of Abby who is recently divorced from her gambling ex husband. She has lost everything for the one she thought she loved. She moves to Corbin’s Bend to be with her widowed Aunt Quincy who is an antique dealer. This is where she meets her love interest Harris who is a confirmed bachelor. He is instantly aware of Abby and even purchases antique disciplinary devices and equipment with her in mind. Ultimately they began a relationship that disturbs the ex husband who foolishly expect to win Abby back. However, Abby thinks she’s found the relationship she’s always wanted but was afraid to reach for. This was a well told story the kind of story leaving wanting more because it’s so engaging. Worth the read. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Long Shot is a fabulous read. Cara Bristol takes us on a journey, from Abby’s first days of curiosity in the spanko community where she’s moved, to interest, and into need. I fell for the charming Harris right along with Abby. Their scenes are hot, hot, hot.
Not all is as it seems though in Corbin's Bend. Abby’s past has not left her alone and Harris is still working through demons of his own. It stung, when he declared he doesn’t want a commitment, but then he reveals he has something in common with her ex. Ouch. Abby is left second guessing all her decisions and reliving her bad choices. My heart ached for her.
I flipped through these pages, needing more and more. Then it turned suspenseful. Cara Bristol lit up one of my worst fears right on the page, but Abby stayed level headed. It’s a thing you must witness for yourself.
The end is completely satisfying too. I plan on rereading that ending several more times. I loved it.
I received a copy of this book in return for my fair and honest review. I honestly can say, you can’t miss this one.

Every time I read one of Cara Bristol's books I think it can't be as good as the last and she tops herself
and it's even better. This is number five in the series about people (spankos) who live in a town
called Corbin's Bend. It's make believe because if it were real, I and many others would move there.
Cara's story is so real that once started I can't put it down until I finish it. This
story had everything, romance, suspense, danger lots of spanking, some erotic and some
discipline, laughter and tears. I love all of Cara's books on DD and the sci-fy like the Breeder.
I am looking forward to her next book. Bravo Cara.

Sometimes You Have To Take A Gamble --- Abby's ex has ruined her financially and now she start over. Sometimes finding the right one can change your perspective on personal rules. Loved the Aunt and they way she shared her own stories of a DD relationship. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Long Shot by Cara Bristol
This is the 4th book in the Corbin's Bend Series and once again it's a hit (pun intended). In this book, we meet Abby Delaney, a newly divorced woman who meets Harrison Montgomery when he helps her unload her belongings into her Aunt Quincy's home. Abby has fantasied about spanking before but only fantasied. Harris on the other hand, lives in Corbin's Bend and is a Dominant. Neither are looking at a forever relationship yet sparks fly and both agree to enjoy each other. That's all the info you get - however because I dislike when a review gives too much away. This addition does the series proud and I can not wait until the next one comes out. BTW, if this is the first time you are reading this author, run do not walk and pick up any of her other books. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely loved Cara Bristol’s addition to the Corbin’s Bend series!
Even though it is the fifth book in the series, it is also a great stand-alone.
This is very much along the same vibe as her Rod and Cane series, which I loved!
Abby moves in with her aunt, Quincy, after a painful divorce. She wants nothing to do with romance or emotions or men in general. But Quincy, the matchmaker, has other plans.
When Quincy invites the handsome Harris over, Abby and he hit it off wonderfully.
He is a Spanko; dominant, sexy, charismatic, and hot. He is also kind, smart, and a business owner.
Abby is intrigued by her new interest in spanking, and is happy to let Harris teach her.
I loved how open minded Abby was, to not only her aunt and uncle’s special relationship, but also to the possibility of exploring spanking for herself. This made the self-sufficient, strong, beautiful woman, even more gorgeous.
Their attraction grows, but neither is ready to commit long term or accept the possibility of falling love.
Unfortunately, her ex-husband does not want to let her go, making for an interesting and entertaining thrill ride at the end.
I loved this story. The characters were so much fun. Their emotions were described beautifully.
The DD and D/s components were portrayed beautifully.
The plot was fast paced, and engaging.
I read this in one night.
The spankings were hot!
The romance and sex were perfect.
And the characterization and plot, were as always, wonderful!
I adore Cara Bristol, and love all her books. But her DD stories have a special place in my heart.
What a fantastic addition to a great series!

A new addition to the Corbin’s Bend series. Abby has moved to Corbin’s Bend to stay with her aunt after her divorce. Harris is a neighbor that stops to help her move in. There is an instant attraction between them. They spend some time getting to know one another and eventually decide to begin a D/d relationship. Of course, in the meantime, there is the problem of Abby’s ex-husband Dale. He has decided that he wants Abby back. They divorced after he lost her grandmother’s house while gambling. Eventually Abby finds out that Harris is a professional gambler. She runs from the relationship. There is a HEA, but how they get there is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed reading this novella. My only problem with this story is the length. I think that this story would have been better if it had been longer. It felt rushed towards the end. 5 starsWas this review helpful? I have always loved anything Cara Bristol writes so I was certainly looking forward to the release of Long Shot.
I am a huge fan of her Rod and Cane series and I suspected Long Shot would be another awesome DD addition to her portfolio.
I wasn't disappointed. She brought the characters to life and did a great job in showing the complexities they faced as they
learned to trust each other. Great job Cara!
