    It helped

    When my father passed away recently I didn't really want to talk about it with anyone. As time went by I became more aware of my "social quirks" and I wanted to know if there was a reason why I acted this way to certain people. I stumbled upon this book and decided to give it a shot.

    It basically took the words right out of my mouth. It comes with exercises you can do at home too! It really brought all my troubles into a new light and now that I'm aware of them and the cause, I'm finding it easier to move on and start anew.

    Remarkable work & Emotional impact

    My father passed away from illness when I was 6 years old. My brothers were 4 and 2 years old respectively. My husband's father divorced from his mother at the age of 6 or so, and paid little attention to him after that, even though they lived less than 10 miles apart. We read this book together a few years ago, and were both astonished at how on target the author's observations were about growing up without the presence of a father. She writes about the lack of self confidence in the child, the constant search for a father-like figure (whether one knows it or not). My husband and I both cried through out most of the book. I would highly recommend this work to anyone who has lost their father, in whatever way it might have happened.. I have purchased several copies and given them out to people I've known who've lost their father while they were young.
