Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
Long ago in ancient Egypt, limestone and granite were cut into large blocks and used to create one of the wonders of the world, the pyramids. Throughout the book are full-page color illustrations and photographs that illustrate the text as it describes what a pyramid is and how it is constructed. There are brief descriptions of the interior of the pyramid. A table of contents shows the organization of the chapters. The first page of each chapter has a color heading in large print. There are a few labels on some of the illustrations. A glossary and index are found at the back of the book. Those students wishing to learn more information about pyramids will find a few additional resources (books and FactHound website) listed at the back; however, if the topic of study is on different structures, readers may wish to explore and read about the tepee, log cabin, and igloo that are featured in separate books in the "Look Inside" series of which this book is a part. The format and presentation are similar across the series. Reviewer: Carrie Hane Hung
