    Better Choices!

This book is very simple reading and I found myself just browsing through the pages instead of actually reading chapter to chapter. When you go to purchase the book I would suggest you look through the pages before buying, you would probably get more out of a childs book.

    Are you kidding!

The reviews on this book are so mixed one extreme to another. After reading the book my opinion is it would be more for a first time job interviewer if that. Most schools today have already taught the etiquette you need on a job interview. I am also a professional and I do think most of the book would be more common sense like the first reviewer wrote.

    Poor Advice

One reviewer wrote don't judge a book by the cover and I completly agree. I always collect books by various authors to see if there is a new or better way to teach my students. This book however is more of what we have already taught the students in college and even high schools teach the information that is in the book. I do prefer a more advanced book for my students soon to be young professionals. The book seemed to be very opinionated and I do like more facts and examples. I hope this helps even the author if she persues more writings. Thank you for allowing reviewers to post!

Look, Speak, & Behave for Women

I did not get any new concepts from the book. Overall I think the book was very elementary. The book cover was very cute and the name of the book was intresting. I guess that's why they say don't judge a book by its cover!

    Whoa..lighten up?

Very opinionated...can't seem to get what the author is bringing to the table? Maybe I was expecting something new? It didn't inspire me nor do I think it had any real depth to it...where was the 'expert' in communication here...kinda cheesy? Didn't like it, sorry..

    Excellent!

The book is excellent for people with self-confidence issues when it comes to picking out an outfit for a 'blank' occassion. Sometimes we just need help to determine what type of clothing/fabric is best for us, for our individual body type and for 'a' specific occassion..

Look, Speak, & Behave for Women

I expected the book to be a little more advanced. The points made in the book were common sense. I would think most people who have ever had a job would know anything discussed in the book.

Effective Advice for Young Business Women

This book, as well as the companion book for men by the same author 'Look, Speak & Behave for Men', offers valuable common sense advice for the young business professional. The author is a corporate image consultant and her book is loaded with helpful tips for those starting out in the job market. A substantial portion of the book is devoted towards what might be deemed 'dress for success' information. While this may seem unnecessary to older professionals in this new world of 'business casual' a helpful set of rules for proper business attire is just what the young Generation Y types need. This is even more true for women since men can always fall back on the standard jacket and tie. The generational differences in the workplace today are exemplified by the fact that the author has felt it necessary to include sections advising on the proper way to stand, basic business courtesy, avoiding excessive personal calls and the importance of finishing assigned tasks. Again while this may seem like common sense to older professionals unfortunately it is not common sense to those starting out. I am reminded of a incident a cousin described where a student nurse she was training insisted on taking multiple personal calls in the middle of being instructed on the proper way of inserting a breathing tube into a patient. The student felt it was entirely proper to do this. This book will provide a welcome set of guidelines and advice for recent college graduates and should be in every guidance counsellor's office. I had a friend of mine who is an HR director at a major commercial/investment bank read it and she said Ms. Yasko-Mangum's book should be given to every woman starting out in the business world.
