Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
K-Gr 3-This collection of craft projects makes use of both the texture and properties of plastic-foam trays (they're light, they float, they're rigid) and the shape of the trays themselves (they can be frames for other artwork or decorated to hold small items). Each activity includes a "You Will Need" section and a numbered list of steps to complete it. A full-color photograph of the completed project (often with variations) is included. The items look like kids really did make them, and the variations leave a window for change or to improve upon the examples given. The crafts require basic supplies: glue, glitter, scissors, markers, thread, paint, pipe cleaners, etc. The projects range from the simple use of a tray as a base for a macaroni collage to the more complex mosaic or sailboat. A welcome addition to any collection both for its craft ideas and its environmentally friendly use for those foam trays.-Genevieve Gallagher, Orange County Public Library, VA
