Get it straight: The end of the world is about Jesus. But the end of the world is also about you.

God never meant you to live clueless about tomorrow. Bible prophecy isn't an entertaining read. Or a head game. It's knowledge that God's given you to do something with—so you can be prepared for the ultimate sprroing of time's clock.

God rules.

Stan roasts.

Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Heidi Borton
The year 2000 is just around the corner and millennial fever is on the rise. From the prophecies of Nostradamus to talk shows to tele-preachers, word of impending doom or a one-world paradise is widespread. With his usual off-the-wall humor (Catch the Wave [Bethany House, 1996/VOYA February 1997]), Johnson demystifies what the Bible says and does not say about the return of Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it. Apocalypse and wit may seem an unlikely pairing; in fact, Johnson's irreverent language could set an adult's teeth on edge-but this is a book that young adults will find funny, exciting, and intriguing. It is also instructive. Included are the chronology of events outlined in the book of Revelation, the various views held by Christians about the Rapture of the church and the thousand-year reign of Christ (the Millennium), the need for personal faith in Jesus Christ, and the nature of Satan as "prince of this world." Based on the premise that the Bible has already shown itself to be a trustworthy and divinely-inspired document through the prophecies fulfilled by Jesus's first coming, Johnson's viewpoint is evangelical to the core. However, the author's reluctance to support any speculative date-setting for the Second Coming is refreshing. This is a needed addition to Christian literature on future events, and a lively, timely book that many young adults will enjoy. VOYA Codes: 4Q 4P J S (Better than most, marred only by occasional lapses, Broad general YA appeal, Junior High-defined as grades 7 to 9 and Senior High-defined as grades 10 to 12).
