I am also a Korean Vet, although my time was in the Navy, so Terry's book gave me a new perspective of everyday life of a combat soldier during the Korean war and a new appreciation for the sacrificies made by our soldiers and marines during the conflict. Terry tells it in vivid detail not available in the history book, but on a personal day to day level. Terry relates his life from childhood up to the war, through his time in Korea and his life upon his return home. His memories of so many experiences parallel many of my own and I suspect a large percentage of americans who grew up in the same time period. It stirred up a lot of long forgotton memories of my own. Terry writes in an easy to read and easy to visualize manner which makes it easy to read and understand. I highly recommend the book to anyone who wishes to understand what it was like to grow up in middle america and be proud to be an american. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
