Another charming read by Kate Perry.
This was another cute and charming read by Kate Perry. I've been waiting for the pairing between Gwen and Rick and this book did not disappoint. In previous books you could definitely sense the chemistry between these two. Yes, they was some hostility between them, but there was definite sparks flying. I loved both Gwen and Rick together. Not only were their scenes together hot but just I loved the dynamics between them.
Gwen is a local gourd artist and has always been a less forth coming about herself and her past. She gets along with everyone with the exception of Rick Clancy. Gwen knows that if she has intention of keeping her past a secret she needs to keep away from the sexy private eye. No one can find out that she's actually the long lost Grape Princess. If they do, her quite life that she's come to treasure will be at an end.
Rick knows that Gwen is hiding something. He's not exactly sure what it is, but his gut is telling him there is more to her story and his gut is never wrong. So he begins to observe Gwen in the hopes of finding what she's hiding. But the more time he spends observing her and talking with her, Rick is finding her charm hard to resist. Not only is she charming, but she's just so cute and sexy.
I loved watching these two finally let down their walls and get together. The chemistry between them is great and they are both hot together. Like I said before, I really enjoyed this book and I am really enjoying Miz Perry's Laurel Heights series and I can't wait for more.

Gwen and Rick struggle against an attaction that is stronger than they care to admit. Two complex characters with a lot of depth, you fall in love with them from the start of the book. The story has the perfect amount of heartbreak, hope, and passion. I had never heard of Kate Perry two weeks ago, but now can say she is one of my favorite authors. For those of you who have been reading this genre for decades as I have, you understand how hard it is to find new authors that this level of quality stories -- and aren't a one-hit-wonder. Kate - you rock!

CLOSE TO YOU by Kate Perry is a good quick read once your mind gets around the given name of TREAT and not wanting to make him a TRENT! Eve & Treat make a good couple once his mother is called out on her hateful behavior. Once she apologizes and makes some changes in her life another romance begins to bloom.
Since I have already read Perry's 3rd book in this series, I am looking forward to 4 and 5. Sure hope one of them is about Anna (Freya's sister in an earlier book) and Max the chef.
This book is a 5 star for me. Hope you like it as much as I did.

I am really loving the Laurel Heights series!! I have read all four books. This was a good book but too short. Did not like how it ended! I believe Rick and Gwen deserve a little more!!! What happens between Camille and Dylan, is this your next book! ;)

Overview
Gwendolyn Pierce has a secret. A big secret.
No one knows that the gourd artist is really the missing Grape Princess--the wine heiress who ran away fourteen years before. And that's the way Gwen likes it....
