Loose Gemstone Guide - Secrets of the Gem Revealed is a guide that offers brief history on gemstones. Some are common but many are rarer finds. I enjoyed the history behind each stone, but as a jewelry maker, the Mohs Hardness is particularly helpful. I even discovered some new stones I’d love to work with in the future. The author guides you through the gemstones in small chunks making this a good starting ground for hobbyists or those who like all their information in one place. I found the smaller, compact text to be well written and executed. No fluff, just the facts, and the added histories were another bonus. Overall I would recommend this book to geology fans, those collecting rare stones, and of course to anyone into jewelry making. The compact size makes it an invaluable guide to have at your fingertips.
Not worth the money. 15 pages with a few miniscule photos of mediocre quality.
