    Do not miss Paula Quinn!

Darkly handsome and sensual, Lord Brand Risande- known as ¿The Passionate¿- is temptation incarnate. But his prowess on the battlefield and in the bedchamber hides a bitter secret: the betrayal that has sealed his heart. Now as this most feared warrior rides out to possess the lands he has won in war, he engages his most formidable enemy ever. Lady Brynnafar Dumont is prepared to do anything to protect her people- even seduce the savage Norman knight who defeated her father. Prepared to face down a cold-blooded beast, she instead confronts a wickedly attractive scoundrel who wants nothing to do with her. It¿s enough to sting a lady¿s pride¿ and strengthen her resolve. Innocent as she is, now she must use all her charms to defeat Lord Brand in the only battle worth fighting-the one for his love. This is Paula¿s debut book, and what a debut it is! Stay alert ladies, Paula is going to be a powerful presence in the romance genre, her gift for creating characters that don¿t just tug on your heartstrings, but YANK them loose altogether, will leave you breathless! I was absolutely entranced from beginning to end. The secondary characters in this book were so engaging you will be praying for their stories too! Brynna and Brand have realistic hurdles to leap and a love in the making that is once in a lifetime. It has it all, desire and denial, passion and loyalty, pain and forgiveness. Dive in and soak up a story of pure emotion! I am anxiously looking forward to getting my hands on her next installment ¿Lord of Temptation¿!

You will lose sleep once this book is started!

And that's a good thing!!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I fell in love with this novel from page 1. Ms. Quinn has made characters so rich in life that you feel as if you know them. I've read it 3X already and am sure to read it again and again.

    more from this reviewer

    Excellent romance

In 1065 England, King Edward declares that winners in battle earn estates. Thus when Lord Richard, who seemed invincible, was finally defeated by the Norman Lord Brand Risand, everyone at Avarloch is shocked. King Edward and Duke William of Normandy have agreed that Brand will wed Richard¿s daughter Lady Brynnafar Dumont to avoid unrest and war.................. Brynna detests the idea of marrying a Norman, but will do so for the good of her people. Brand refuses to marry anyone having been betrayed just one year ago by a woman. Meanwhile Sir Luis plans to make trouble by fostering the seemingly natural distrust between Normans and Saxons especially taking advantage of Brand¿s distrust in the loyalties of any woman especially the bride that William forces him to wed. Still he finds himself falling in love with Brynna, who was halfway in love with him when in the nearby woods one year ago she saw how gentle he was with the love of his life.................... The interest in this fine historical romance lies in the setting as readers obtain insight into political maneuvering before the Conqueror triumphs. The story line feeds on the distrust between Saxons and Normans, but is augmented by wise individuals like Richard, whose beloved late wife was a Celt with the same suspicions between people. Though typical of Conqueror romances with a sly sneaky scoundrel stirring trouble by taking advantage of the Saxon Norman rivalry, Paula Quinn provides a vivid look at England just prior to the Battle at Hastings........................ Good read, not Paula Quinn's best

The story starts off great, keeps your interest. Brynna realizes that she must attempt to make good of a bad situation when she is forced to marry Brandt to save her country and keep her home. She has longed for his touch way before he even knew she existed. She begins to come to grips with their union all the while knowing that even as he ignites fire in her heart, she will never truely have his. Once this part of the story was aknowledged, the book slowed WAY down and it became frustrating to see Brynna devote her heart and emotions and body to him, only to have him refuse to do the same with her. You see her give and give to this man who wants to love her but is trying to escape from a past lover. He builds her up while making love, just to tear her down when she asks for his loyalty. The end getts good again as that past lover comes back in to the picture to temp Brandt yet again. I thought with all of the ratings that this book would be as good as "Laird of the Mist" but it wasnt. Still an okay book, but not one that I would recommend.

    Sensuality at its best

Okay,so I never have been one for Roamnce books, I have to admit. But when I saw the title, it just sort of sucked me in, and I ended up buying and reading it. It is one of the books that you read from start to finish, and still hunger for more. Every girl wants to save the man from himself, and Bryanna is no exception. The question is, will she be able to do it? You'll have to read the stroy to find out. Its a quick read, and you'll wish there was more after you finish. But its one of those tales that you can read a hundred times over and still want to read again.

    Loved It!!

This book was a very nice change from the paranormals I have been consumed with lately! I forgot how much I love a good historical. And Lord of Desire definitely qualifies! The interaction between the characters is fantastic. I love how Brand can be strong and tough when he needs to be and then gentle and caring in the next heartbeat! And the sparks that fly when Brand and Brynna are together! Just sucks you right into the moment. Ms. Quinn certainly knows how to pen extremely sensual encounters! I love this book and can't wait to get my hands on the Lord of Temptation!

    Indulge & Be Delighted.!!!

What a truly great read..This was the first book I've read that was written by Paula Quinn, and I will say if this is anything to go on, I will definitely be reading her future tales. Lord Brand and Lady Brynn were a perfect foil to each other, and one totally enjoys their ups and downs..(of which there are many)..Truly worth reading... Indulge..please do...

    Amazing Medieval Romance!

I couldn't put this book down. It was WONDERFUL!!Very well written with characters so real I felt every emotion. Steamy love scenes that took my breath away and an edge of your seat plot. The characterization was superb with secondary characters that added to the depth of the story. I'm looking forward to the authors next book.
