Overview

Three young heirs, imprisoned by an unscrupulous uncle, escaped—to the sea, to the streets, to faraway battle—awaiting the day when they would return to reclaim their birthright.

Once upon a time, he was Lord Tristan Easton—now he is Crimson Jack, a notorious privateer beholden to none, whose only mistress is the sea. But all that will change when exquisite Lady Anne Hayworth hires his protection on a trip into danger and seduction. . .

Desperation brought Anne to the bronzed, blue-eyed buccaneer. But after the Captain demands a kiss as his payment, desire will keep her at his side. She has never known temptation like this—but to protect her heart, she knows she must leave him behind. Yet Tristan cannot easily forget the beauty—and when they meet again in a London ballroom, he vows he won't lose her a second time, as fiery passion reignited takes them into uncharted waters that could lead the second lost lord home. . .

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Bestseller Heath continues the Lost Lords of Pembrook series with a formulaic follow-up to She Tempts the Duke. No longer “lost,” free to reclaim his birthright and status in society, Tristan Easton still feels more at ease on the sea, where he is known as Crimson Jack for the scars across his back. Lady Anne Hayworth decides to go to the Crimea and bid a saintly farewell to her dead fiancé, and she is predictably repulsed yet intrigued by Tristan when he offers to sail her there for the price of a kiss. This leads to a “long, slow, leisurely” and rather dull ship-board courtship. When they return, Lady Hayworth is shocked to see her sea captain at a ball and learn that he’s a lord, though a preposterous game of strip chess demonstrates his lack of propriety. The well-drawn angsty hero unfortunately only highlights the cardboard heroine and thin plot. (Oct.)
RT Book Reviewss - 4.5 stars - Praise for LORD OF TEMPTATION
Heath is a consummate storyteller, whose characters leap from the pages. Their powerful emotions and intense passions translate exceptionally well to readers, allowing them to become deeply involved in the fascinating plot and leaving them breathless and wanting more.

Meet the Author

Lorraine Heath always dreamed of being a writer. After graduating from the University of Texas, she wrote training manuals, press releases for a publicist, articles, and computer code, but something was always missing. In 1990, she read a romance novel and not only became hooked on the genre, but quickly realized what her writing lacked: rebels, scoundrels, and rogues. She's been writing about them ever since. Her work has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including RWA's RITA®, a HOLT Medallion, and a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award. Her novels have appeared on the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists.

I love Lorraine Heath, I have tried to read all her books. Lord of Temptation is the second book about the Lords of Pembrook. I loved the story with Mary and Sebastian and I love this story about Tristan and Anne. It was a pretty sweet story and it is interesting how the three Lords unravel in front of us. I can wait to read the next story Lord Rafe. I love how Tristan and Anne became lovers and fall in love with eachother. Great story

    Great romance!

This is the second book in the series about the Pembrooke Lords. This is Tristan story. He loves the sea. He is honest in his feeling which i like in a story. The story is believable with lots of romance. It is about 240 pages with an an epilogue. I look forward to reading book three.

    Passionate

I love Lorraine Heath, but this book is a little uneven and sometimes the writing is stilted...where the character's feelings are narrated instead of developed with the story. I love that the h and h have a passionate love affair...not just a few interludes, but are truly lovers.

Another of the Historical Romance books from the Author.. recommended read.

Another book regarding the Lost Lords of Pembrook. If you like Historical Romance readings, you will love following these 3 brothers. You will get
involved in reading this book and won't want to put it down...
And you will be eager to read the other 3 books in this series.
good story lines, and happy endings... I like that.

I enjoyed the book, but the main female character did annoy me at times. She would say no and then not stick to her guns and she would give in.

    very enjoyable as always

I read some reviews and was skeptical to purchase this book with the impession the heroine would be winey and meek! I loved anne, I could see if you dont read the book maybe you can have the wrong impression but she certainly stood up to her father and brothers and did not fall apart after becoming involved with the hero. Try it I really liked it and I look forward to Rafe's story as well : )
