Really great book but the end is sad and kind of a cliffhanger. I was wondering if there was a book after this
Good characters, great setting, and good coming of age conflicts for a young lad. The fishing story is bonus!
Unlike some readers I have lived on the water all my life. Also I have been in many boats in my life. It has always been a dream of mine to go to Hawii. This book has given me some discrpition on what it is like to be a Charter there. I have a cousin that lives in Hawii and he says it is great. This book has taken what he described to me and made the landscape in my head more beutiful. It sounds like a dream doing what Mickey and Bill do in thoes waters. I hope that more readers will get the same reaction that had.
Lord of the Deep by Graham Salisbury is a great summer reading book. the main character is a 13 year old boy named Mikey Donovan who works on his step dads boat in Hawaii.one day on the boat the people who signed up to fish caught the record breaking marlin. They wanted to put the marlin in the book. although they broke some of the rules to make the fish the record holding but the people who signed said they would not tell that they broke the rules. this made Mickey be very mad since they broke the rules and Bill his step dad let them break the rules.towards the end of the book Mikey and Bill get in a fight about the fish controversy but then they call it truths.i greatly enjoyed reading this book and i recommend this book to any one who likes fishing, the beach, or to read over the summer.
