Her skills as a talk show host come through clearly in this audiobook, which she packs with advice delivered in a clear and amenable manner. Define and set your goals, take control of your finances, use time efficiently, take care of your health, feed your spirit, and develop a community are some of the steps she explores, with appropriate examples and convincing reasons. Occasionally, however, her arguments become too repetitive. Although at times Dra. Isabel makes problematic generalizations, her advice is usually practical and relevant to many people of either gender in a variety of situations. This is illustrated in her discussion on "the spirit," in which she does not rely solely on a religious argument but instead advises "cultivating the soul" for those who believe and for those who do not believe in God. Overall, the advice she delivers in this well-narrated guide is helpful, particularly because Dra. Isabel does not focus only on issues of money or work but instead invites listeners to think beyond these everyday concerns. This guide is specifically geared to Hispanics, and it takes its examples from work and family-related situations common to that culture.
